Pastor Nominating Committee Update
The PNC has been meeting since early June.
-
In June and July the committee met with Presbytery to learn about the process of choosing a pastor and drafted our Ministry Discernment Profile (MDP), which is information describing our church and the position, based on the Mission Study Report.
-
The Session and Presbytery approved the MDP in late July and the information was entered into the Church Leadership Connection, which is the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s online platform for matching churches with pastors seeking a new call.
-
The PNC has been receiving information on potential candidates to review. This process could take months, a year, maybe longer.
The PNC is committed to a process where we reach consensus on who we feel God is calling to be our next pastor and, of course, that person must share that sense of calling. Unfortunately, the committee is not able to provide much in the way of updates moving forward, as they are not allowed to provide any specific details until they are ready to bring a candidate forward to the congregation.
In the meantime, the PNC earnestly seeks your prayers that God will clearly lead them towards that person who is being called and, likewise, that that person would feel a strong sense of calling to our church.

Please continue to pray for our church as we seek our next pastor. Let anyone on the committee know if you have any questions about the report.
